Things To Do
Eat and Drink
Walk into Downtown Melbourne and explore many fantastic restaurants, bakeries, breweries, and pubs. The House Manual in your room lists some of our favorite places.
Shopping
Historic Downtown Melbourne has numerous local shops that sell artisan jewelry, clothing, and much more. Soothe your soul with a relaxing massage or skin care treatment at one of Downtown Melbourne's incredible spas.
Pool
Go for a swim or simply relax in our heated pool. Soak in some rays while you enjoy an amazing view of Crane Creek.
Kayaking
Kayaks are available for guests to borrow for no additional charge. As you explore Crane Creek, you will almost surely see some of our incredible wildlife including numerous types of birds, manatees, dolphins and maybe even the occasional alligator if you are lucky.
Fishing
Fish from our 100' boardwalk for Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Sheepshead, Black Drum and more. We have a couple of rods you can borrow and Rigg’s Outpost, located about 100 yards away, has all the gear and bait you'll need if you want to leave your tackle box at home.
Nature/Hiking
We are located only 2.5 miles from the ocean and the closest public beach. Two miles in the other direction, you will find the 15-acre Joy & Gordon Patterson Botanical Garden at Florida Tech. Brevard County has several parks to immerse yourself in nature or do a little hiking. Some of our favorites are Erna Nixon Park, the Turkey Creek Sanctuary (both have nice boardwalk trails), and the Maritime Hammock Sanctuary, which is located very close to our Tranquility property.
Art & History
The Eau Gallie Art District is only 10 minutes away and is home to the Foosaner Art Museum that has a collection of nearly 5000 objects spanning 2000 years of creative history. Even closer to us is the free Melbourne Liberty Bell Memorial Museum that includes a full sized replica of the Liberty Bell, the Rotunda of American History, and Freedom Hall, a tribute to the men and women of America's armed Services.
Rocket Launches
Rocket launches are happening more and more often here in Brevard County. They can be viewed from any beach, or you can simply walk down to Front Street Park at the east end of Melbourne Ave for a decent nearby viewing spot. The Kennedy Space Center is also a great place to spend a day of your vacation if you'd like to feel the power of a rocket launch, stand nose-to-nose with Space Shuttle Atlantis, and walk among the giants of space exploration.
The Brevard Zoo
Less than 15 miles away from our Inn is the 75 acre Brevard Zoo. The zoo has nearly 1000 animals from 200 species from around the world. Did we mention you can literally pet giraffes here?
